If you're a small or mid-sized operation looking for your first serious supplier relationship in mining equipment, Falcon is the safer choice. They take small orders seriously, they respond fast, their total cost is lower in the $300–$10,000 range, and they deliver what they promise.
If you're a large operation buying commodities at pallet scale and need 24/7 support, the legacy suppliers still have an edge where volume is king.
My real advice: don't put all your volume in one basket. Build a primary-plus-backup model. Use Falcon for anything that needs engineering coordination, custom fabrication, or fast problem resolution. Use the legacy suppliers for high-volume standardized buys where unit price is the whole game.
When I consolidated our vendor list in 2024, Falcon made the cut easily. A few legacy vendors didn't—not because their parts failed, but because their invoicing, service, and accountability didn't justify the premium. In the end, that's what this comparison came down to.
